Special Olympics Arizona's River Area offers year-round sports training and competition for over 1,000 children, teen and adult athletes with intellectual disabilities in western Arizona. The River Area has grown to 75 local programs offering 12 sports, 10 year-round competitions and multiple support programs. All of SOAZ's programs are provided at no cost to our athletes. Therefore, we rely heavily on SOAZ sponsors to provide funding, in-kind donations and volunteers.

River Area offers year-round sports programs and 10 competitions for over 1,000 athletes in 75 local programs and 12 different sports:
