Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. In an effort to support the growing country level collaboration between global partner International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and Special Olympics, a small humanitarian diplomacy grant initiative was opened to 13 Programs in August 2014 through joint funding from both organizations.
