Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Those activities give them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship.

As a child, Wonsang had behavioral and other problems associated with intellectual disability. Eventually, his family found that sports calmed him and helped him find focus.
Special Olympics Korea successfully hosted its 2nd Super Blue Marathon on Saturday, Oct 8 2016 in Seoul, Korea.
The ‘Special Olympics Night’ was held in January 18th at Korea National Assembly by Special Olympics Korea as an award ceremony for those of whom contributed to Special Olympics movement in 2015.
From November 4 to 6, a five-day International Floor Hockey Competition was held simultaneously with Special Uni-Festival in Hongseong, Korea.
