Special Olympics Mali celebrates EKS Day with Unified Sports and Dance

Eunice Kennedy Shriver dedicated her life to defend and promote the inclusion of people with disabilities within the community via sports programming. To honor her legacy, Special Olympics Mali held a Unified Football match at a stadium in Bamako, the nation’s capital. Special guests for the event included members of Mali’s Under 15 national football team.

An outdoor excursion for EKS Day in Mali

Special Olympics Mali celebrated EKS Day with activities at the Bamako National Park. Board members, family members, coaches, volunteers and supporters joined to celebrate this wonderful occasion with our athletes.

After a 3-year absence the Special Olympics Africa family is thrilled to welcome back Special Olympics Mali. We are extremely happy that the Special Olympics Africa region is again able to reach out to people with intellectual disabilities in Mali.
