Project iAm was developed initially for a fundraiser, Acoustics for Autism, in order to distribute money and establish scholarships with provider’s of care in the Toledo area. Our main focus is to provide support and information, resources, and financial assistance to families affected by autism. Because there are so many schools of thought on the diagnosis and treatment of this disorder, we encourage families to “test the waters” and find the right fit for their child. We aim to help families speed up the cycle time from the autism diagnosis to effective treatments.

Dear Panhandle Community,

1 in 5 people are affected by mental illness – our families, our friends, our neighbors, church members, and our community. Often, substance abuse, school and work problems, family dysfunction, and homelessness are caused by the underlying issue of mental illness. It affects Amarillo. It affects us. Let’s work together to: raise awareness, end stigma, encourage treatment, and improve mental health services in our community.

The Walk for Mental Health 2021 will be a virtual event (not in-person) this year due to pervasive COVID spread int he community. Similar to last year, we encourage supporters/participants to provide a video of their own Walk on social media on Saturday, October 9. T-shirts (with sponsor names on the back) will still be passed out at a determined location. We are encouraging our community leaders, mental health peers, families, friends and health providers to walk on their own this year, and donate to our cause. You can use this website to register for the Walk.
