PMC Learning Center was built with the funding for Enhanced Services for Students with Learning Disabilities. The Assistive Learning Lab features computer workstations with 22_ monitors. Each computer system is equipped with regular office and internet programs (i.e. MS Word or Internet Explorer) run under Windows XP and various assistive technology software. They include text-to-speech (Kurzweil), speech recognition (Dragon), and mind-mapping software (Inspiration). A scanner and a laser printer are available for student use. Each workstation is equipped with a microphone headset for text-to-speech or speech recognition uses. The centre provides dedicated support from the Assistive Learning Technologist and his assistants.
