A SPACE Exclusive Introduction To Fishing
This snow week provides the opportunity for ill or injured Veterans and caregivers from Manitoba to British Columbia to return to a sport they may once have enjoyed or to introduce them to a winter sport which may become a lifelong family activity. This week long event will be financially covered with exceptions of the travel costs to get to and from our location. Our goal is to have a fun, inclusive safe week with many positive experiences.

This is a gathering for “SPECAL” pool playing where those living with dementia can play pool using any rules they would like, while the care partners can either play or have a social time while watching their loved ones play.

This session will provide information on scoping and technical requirements for boat slips and technical provisions that apply to gangways connecting floating facilities, accessible routes connecting fixed facilities, clear space, handrail, and edge protection. Additionally, presenters will address associated elements and facilities that support recreational boating and fishing facilities.
Fishing and boating is a sport enjoyed throughout the year. During this prime session, learn about modified procedures and safety protocols during leisure fishing and boating as well as competitive events. There will be time for participants to ask questions of the speaker following the presentation.
This session will review the scoping and technical requirements for accessible golf and miniature golf courses. U.S. Access Board staff Bill Botten and Juliet Shoultz will also address frequently asked questions and common sources of confusion about accessibility at golf and miniature golf facilities.
