This snow week provides the opportunity for ill or injured Veterans and caregivers from Manitoba to British Columbia to return to a sport they may once have enjoyed or to introduce them to a winter sport which may become a lifelong family activity. This week long event will be financially covered with exceptions of the travel costs to get to and from our location. Our goal is to have a fun, inclusive safe week with many positive experiences.

Military service members and their families are resilient and resourceful, many also face unique challenges and have special considerations related to the service of their country. When military families have a student with a disability, it adds another layer of complexity accessing information and supports, while ensuring their students receive a free, appropriate public education.

PEATC, in collaboration with the Virginia Department of Education, invite military service members and their families who have students with disabilities, as well as the educators and other support professionals who serve them, to join us for a virtual conference designed with their interests in mind!

There will be two live sessions as well as a variety of pre-recorded presentations available for viewing at your convenience. This year’s conference will include topics on special education, inclusive education, collaboration, transition services, and more!

Monday, September 13 at 8 AM EDT

The Wounded Warrior Project will be providing a presentation focused on the VA Claims process as part of your transition from Military Service and conducting a question and answer session with individuals after the briefing. You will also have the opportunity to learn how the Wounded Warrior Project can assist you with your claims during your transition. This event is free of charge and will be online.
