The University of Dundee Psychiatry Society are proud to announce that we are hosting the National Student Psychiatry Conference 2022 in February 5-6. Due to ongoing COVID uncertainty, this will be an online event.

The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed and exacerbated the deep inequalities that exist on both a local and global level. The economic consequences of the pandemic (and the government responses to it) are likely to be felt for generations to come. As such, it has never been more important to understand how deprivation impacts mental health. Our selected theme for the conference is: "A Penny For Your Thoughts: The Link Between Deprivation and Mental Illness".

We plan to have a variety of speakers presenting on this topic including academic psychiatrists, clinicians and, importantly, those with lived experience. This talks will run alongside interactive workshops, opportunities for poster presentations and more! Planning for this event is still underway, but we will produce a programme as soon as possible.
