This workshop allows attendees to understand the nature of Mathematics and how it affects students with dyslexia, the theoretical and practical implications of Mathematics and the nature of Dyscalculia. Attendees will also learn practical strategies that can be applied in school & at home to aid children in their learning.
This workshop is targeted at parents of children with specific learning difficulties who display challenging or inappropriate behaviours as a result of their learning needs. Some of these children may also have co-occurring issues like Attention Deficit. This workshop thus aims to help these parents better understand the factors that lead their children to exhibit such behaviours and to learn coping strategies together with positive parenting skills to promote appropriate behaviour and better relationships.
This workshop is specially designed for participants who are or will be supporting Primary level students with specific learning difficulties (SpLD) in their English Examinations. The course will examine the various components of the English Language Paper Two, unpack the intricacies of the various components by simplifying them into simple and manageable steps, and eventually, impart strategies to tackle the examination requirements.
The workshop aims to allow attendees understand why dyslexic learners find spelling difficult, and what are the skills and knowledge needed to spell English words. Attendees will be more aware of the underlying principles of spelling instruction, as well as be familiar with tools for multi sensory spelling instruction. Attendees will gain skills in helping dyslexic learners spell phonetic words and teaching spelling of non-phonetic words. In addition, other techniques and tools for building spelling skills will also be shared in the workshop.
