Be Heard Loud and Clear: Maintaining Effective Communication with Parkinson’s

Speech Pathologist Lisa Schmierer will discuss how early intervention from Speech Pathology can help you maintain clear and effective communication for longer periods. This session will cover the range of evidence-based speech pathology interventions available for people with Parkinson’s, including LSVT Loud. Lisa will discuss the importance of clear and effective communication in the workplace, as well as at home and with family and friends. Lisa will also touch on management of other symptoms, such as safe swallowing, language, facial expression and cognitive communication. Lisa Schmierer is the Speech Pathology Clinical Educator for Canberra Health Services.
