RUBI (Unidades de Investigación en Intervención Conductual) es un programa de educación para padres basado en los principios del Análisis de Conducta Aplicado. About this Event

Many children with autism and related disabilities have trouble following directions. This seminar will review reasons why children do not follow directions, and provide different pathways for parents and educators to address these issues. Behavioral supports such as prompt hierarchies, shaping and delivery of directions will be covered. Dr Terri Daly, BCBA-D will lead the session and Q & A afterward. Learn how you can be more successful with your child following directions for safety, learning and community participation by mastering these skills .

This presentation is primarily geared towards children ages 2-12, verbal or not, and covers the techniques of preventing negative or problem behaviors, teaching and increasing positive behaviors, such as following directions, self-help and independence skills, using the principles of ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis), and determining the reason (function) for behaviors. Behavior strategies such as redirection, reinforcement, and positives will be covered.
