Disability:IN Chicagoland continues its second annual Virtual Disability Inclusion Opportunity Summit program series on Tuesday, October 12th with a discussion on The Future of Work Amid the COVID 19 Pandemic. Business operations continue to evolve to respond to the impact of COVID-19. Questions arise around topics like: vaccination; masks; flexible work schedules; telework; leave; and accommodations. The pandemic has required employers to abandon a conventional perspective on where, when, and how work is performed and to adopt flexible policies and practices to meet business objectives. Many workers have been affected by these changes but especially workers with disabilities – leading some to request accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Reasonable accommodation lessons learned are informing return-to-work considerations and shaping the future of work as we know it. Join Tracie DeFreitas, Principal Consultant, ADA Specialist at the Job Accommodation Network (JAN), for this training which will address various reasonable accommodation and ADA issues and offer practical accommodation strategies to enable employees with disabilities to continue working during the pandemic and beyond.
