Gateways’ Wellness Center assists mentally ill clients who are in their final stages of the recovery process with building links in their community to support physical and mental health, foster independence, and enhance continued recovery. The schedule is as flexible as the client wants it to be. Clients can choose any or all of the activities provided such as counseling, vocational referrals, peer advocacy assistance, and support groups.
Communities Actively Living Independent & Free (CALIF) is an independent living center, a non-profit 501c3 organization that provides advocacy programs and services for people with disabilities primarily residing within the 50 zip codes of Los Angeles County covering south and central Los Angeles and neighboring communities.
Located at the University of Southern California Andrus Gerontology Center, NRCSHHM promotes aging in place, independent living, for frail elderly and disability, with home modification and supportive housing, for successful aging, long-term care, and elder-friendly communities. Through home modification research, policy analysis, training, education, technical assistance to promote home modification to adapting environment, independent living, with handrails, lever door handles, grab bars, hand-held shower.
Gateways Forensic Programs offer a variety of services to individuals involved in the criminal justice system. Gateways’ Forensic Community Treatment Program provides court mandated outpatient services to men and women between the ages 18 and 64. Our Conditional Release Program evaluates patients residing in state hospitals, provides court-mandated residential, day-care, and outpatient treatment, and supervises individuals released by the courts back into the community who are in the legal system for reasons of not guilty by reason of insanity, incompetent to stand trial, mentally-disordered sex offender, and mentally-disordered offender.
Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Those activities give them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship.
