Lived Experiences Working with a Disability/Long-Term Condition

Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at 8:30 AM - 10 AM EST

This workshop on 'Lived Experiences Working with a Disability or Long-Term Condition' is part of our multi-day virtual EDI conference.

About this Event

Creating a diverse, welcoming and inclusive environment is everyone’s responsibility. It is key to delivering our Trust Values and continuously driving our organisational success and effectiveness. A diverse workforce where colleagues feel valued and enabled to reach their full potential has a positive impact on everyone; in turn improving innovation and decision-making as well as meeting the needs of the diverse population we serve.

This workshop is for all staff and has been organised by our Disabilities and Long-Term Conditions Staff Network. Some colleagues will share their lived experiences of working with a disability or long-term condition. A guest speaker, Martin Austin, will talk about disability, including use of the 'Access Card' to address barriers in the real world.

What to Expect:

• Understanding of disability, including the use of the 'Access Card' to address barriers in the real world.

• Find out about some of our colleagues' lived experiences working with a disability or long-term condition with Q&As , what we got right and can ask of the organisation to improve.

• Learn how being part of our Trust's Disabilities and Long-Term Conditions Staff Network nurtures empowerment.
