About this Event
When different stakeholders combine their expertise to innovate for Disability Inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction (DIDRR), they have greater potential to increase safety and reduce barriers for people with disability and other high-risk groups.
The fourth session in this series will introduce the Disability Inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction (DIDRR) Toolkit, along with examples of collaboration.
You will gain insights into good practice examples of councils working with local community services and disability services providers to develop DIDRR at the local community level.
Learn about the tools, resources and effective practices for DIDRR and how they can be further developed in your community. You will take away a host of resources that you can use within your practice to build resilience to disaster.
Event speakers will deliver an information presentation with case studies and then come together for a panel session:
A link to the online event will be provided prior to the event for you to join in.
This interactive session will encourage discussions that will contribute to the development of recommendations for developing workforce capacity in the community, health care and disability service sectors to engage in DIDRR.
