This FREE 5.5-hour virtual wellness training is an opportunity for LGBTQ+ helping professionals to learn, share, and hold healing space with and for each other. We will pause together to reflect, cry, laugh, and replenish. Together, let's inspire the nourishment and joy that comes from being in Community.
These past years, the combination of the politically sanctioned oppression of our LGBTQ+ and other marginalized communities, the worldwide grief and uncertainty of COVID-19, the murder of George Floyd, and the police-state violence to the resistance of systemic racial injustice have been frightening, painful, and exhausting.
2020 marked a surge in people seeking health and wellness services for depression, anxiety, loneliness, fear, grief, suicidal ideation, stomach cramps, headaches, sleeplessness, oppression fatigue, and PTSD.
As helping professionals, we hold space for our clients' ups and downs while simultaneously carrying our own.
In early 2021, helpers started reporting an increase in mental, emotional, and physical exhaustion. We are experiencing any combination of complex burnout, compassion fatigue, moral injury, vicarious trauma, languish, sense of incompetence, overwhelm, cynicism, and isolation.
