Our Mission

According to the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP), eight out of ten adults with disabilities aged 16 years and older are not engaged in the labor force. This stark statistic led to the creation of EightTen, a social enterprise designed to develop collaborative approaches to employment challenges facing millions of disengaged youth and young adults with differing abilities.

With the landmark Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), a monumental emphasis is being placed on helping job seekers access employment, education, training, and support services needed to succeed in the labor market. Equally important as a primary component of WIOA is the need to support employers in gaining access to the talent they need to compete in the global economy. In response, EightTen brings a much-needed innovation mindset to an age-old problem by connecting trusted experts in workforce development to opportunities with employment stakeholders in business, education, government, and service providers.
