The 2022 Summit will be a two-day virtual event and will be held on February 7th and 8, 2022. The summit will welcome dignitaries from across Canada and persons with disabilities to solicit feedback on “proposed updates to Clearing our Path” guidelines published by CNIB on accessibility for people with sight loss. The two- day summit will be through the online platform vFairs, a virtual and hybrid event platform that is embedded in Zoom Webinars to give attendees a unique virtual experience. CNIB has used the VFairs platform over the past 2 years for similar virtual events and has found that the platform is navigable with assistive technology.
The summit will include virtual breakout rooms to facilitate discussion around a multitude of different topics and to solicit feedback from stakeholder groups. Breakout rooms will be capped at no more than 15 participants, where feasible, so as to facilitate dialogue. Keynote speakers will also be invited to the event to speak about their research findings and their work.
