CNIB passionately provides community-based support, knowledge and a national voice to ensure Canadians who are blind or partially sighted have the confidence, skills and opportunities to fully participate in life. Founded in 1918, we’re entering our 100th year of operation – and celebrating a century of changing individual lives and society as a whole.
We are super excited to welcome Luca DeMontis, Program Manager, Canadian Blind Hockey and the General Manager of the Canadian National Blind Hockey Team to talk about blind hockey.
The event will be hosted in dim lighting to reflect the sight loss spectrum. Guests will have the option to wear an eye mask if they would like to enhance their wine tasting experience by heightening their senses of taste, feel, and smell.
Attendees will share best practices and we will hear from TVI’s (Teachers for the Visually Impaired or Itinerant Teachers) and other special guests. Be part of an exciting and supportive community and meet other parents working toward the same goals.
Join us for games, prizes and a good ole conversation. This program is hosted by the CNIB National Youth Council.
Have a boo-tiful time at our first-ever family-friendly Halloween retreat. There will be lots of treats (and a few tricks) including spooky story-telling at the campfire, creepy crafts, costumes and more. Parents can enjoy the fun-ky kid-focused activities as well as games for grown-ups.
CNIB Lake Joe is so beautiful at this time of year. Spend a weekend with us and savour all the delights of the season.
This action-packed writer’s retreat for CNIB kids and teens (ages 6-19) is perfect for youth who are braille users and are interested in creative writing. Participants will enjoy fun, interactive workshops to help them develop their imaginations and creative writing skills. There will be braille-themed activities suitable for all ages and braille skills.
