The job seeking process can feel like being lost in a sea of unknowns, facing waves of uncertainty and intimidation. The Autism Society of Texas can help autistic adults ride high above those waves at our first Autism Workforce Empowerment Day event on July 24th at 10 am on Zoom!
We will send you the Zoom link on the week of the event.
Check out the ways that you can get involved:
BE A JOB SURFER (PARTICIPANT)
Job surfers will have a chance to hear from potential employers (such as PayPal, HEB, and Dell), as well as to create a video resume to share with their potential employer of choice. Job surfers will also participate in mini-workshops with organizations (like the University of Texas and Austin Community College) that address how to build better skills for proceeding in their career journey with confidence.
Step 1: Register here. (A $5 registration fee will be applied.)
Step 2: Make sure to provide your preferred email address.
Step 3: When you get your confirmation email, scroll to the "Additional Information" section to find instructions and guidance on how to create and submit your video resume!
BE A SPONSOR
Donate by selecting the Sponsorship Donation option! We are inviting businesses to sponsor this event and help support inclusive employment for individuals with autism. By generously contributing a donation amount of your choice, your business will get recognized during the event. The sponsorship window will remain open until the day before the event (July 23rd). Businesses that make large donations will receive recognition in our monthly newsletter and on social media, as well as priority access to our Autism Friendly Business training program materials. If you are a non-profit organization or if you are unable to sponsor but would still like to find out ways to get involved, please contact [email protected].
If you are an employer or job seeker and want more information about how to participate, please contact Amiee Kellogg at [email protected].
