The Power of Your Personal Story

In Washington State we have seen the power families have in shaping developmental disabilities services. Change happens by sharing your story of supporting a loved one with a developmental disability to live a full life.

When you tell your story, you can change lives for your loved ones and others.

Please join us for a workshop with Cathy Murahashi that will teach you how to effectively tell your story to influence services you need for your daughter/son with a disability. Your story can change key services you value from School To Work and respite to residential services and provider training. Elected officials want to hear from their constituents so that they know how their decisions impact real people in real places. It’s okay if you don’t remember anything from high school about how a bill becomes a law. Just bring your experience. You will leave the workshop feeling confident in telling your story and have some ideas for how you can use your story for change.

This will be a free and casual event with refreshments! Bring your family.

If you are interested in child care for little ones, self-advocacy activities for youth/adults with disabilities or translator services, please email [email protected]
