World Suicide Prevention Day happens each year in September and is a day to remember loved ones that we’ve lost to suicide as well as learn about, and work together to promote suicide prevention/intervention efforts.
This year our event is taking place on September 10th at McGuire Lake and we encourage you to bring your own lanterns. There will be a lantern making station for you to create a lanter for you to walk with light.
The event is a family-friendly community event. There will be MC's helping guide the walk alongside music and refreshments. The lantern walk encourages people to sign up for suicide alertness training and mental health first aid courses offered through continuing studies to work together to prevent suicide and increase their ability to come alongside loved ones, colleagues and friends who may be struggling.
