The Wheel-A-Thon is an annual fund-raiser to raise awareness for people with disabilities within our community. The Wheel-A-Thon is a timed obstacle course where teams of 4+ attempt to maneuver through obstacles that individuals with disabilities face every day as fast as possible in a wheel chair.
All tickets and donations benefit the MS Clinic (Multiple Sclerosis Clinic) and IMPACT program (Individualized Movement and Physical Activity for Children Today) located at Oregon State University. IMPACT allows for children, youth, and young adults with disabilites to pair up with students from OSU to engage in swimming, dancing, adapted sports, etc. The partificipants and volunteers form connections that allow them to grow not only physically, but in character and personal development as well. The MS Clinic also connects community members diagnosed with multiple sclerosis with student volunteers to work on an individualized exercise program. Come participate with us to raise awareness (and the chance for some awesome prizes if you place 1st).
The event, hosted by the Pre-Therapy and Allied Health Club in the College of Public Health and Human Sciences, will be held from 10am-6pm May 18th in the Student Experience Center plaza.
If you would rather only donate, a gofundme has been set up here:
