Visually-impaired relay team completes Canadian Death Race

Canadian Death Race: Elevation & Distance Profile

For the first time, a visually-impaired relay team (called Now You See Us Now We Don’t) competed in the Canadian Death Race, held August 3-August 5 2018.

This race is a 125k trail, near the Alberta-BC border and it starts at an elevation of 1280m and involves an increase in elevation of 5000 metres.

The 5 team members are triathletes from Ottawa and each of them ran with a guide.

All members finished the race, even though “the footing for the ascents and descents was very challenging.”

“Loose rocks, tree roots and mud” were present everywhere.

It was incredible with such a difficult course that there were no “race-ending injuries” by the members of this team.
