Recognizing the social and mental health needs of our child during the COVID quarantine, I came across Jane Tyson's Resilient Kids. In her sessions, my son was an active participant in a group that emphasized children's voices and choices, while encouraging resiliency-building activities and habits.
Embracing Jane's goals of "encouraging organic growth, social, emotional learning and tools for resiliency", this group will foster children's self-determination and self-advocacy skills using non-traditional but research-proven educational methods. As a facilitator, my involvement will be to create opportunities for conversation and collaboration among the children attending.
