Creating this project comes from a place of self insecurity. Feeling down is isolating. In everyday life, mental health and the real, true struggles of life and the pressures we all feel are not talked about.
Through all the supportive friends, there are times where, personally, I feel lost; where I feel alone. Though my problems are not much relatively-speaking, relatively-speaking to me they hold and bear great weight.
There are times where I feel down about school; where I feel stressed about life.
The internet truly does make you feel small and meek. With so many others’ projects and accomplishments on full display online, almost like magnificent paintings in a museum, cordoned off by ropes — you can look but don’t touch — it is no wonder that the suicide rate and depression rate in the Western world is through the roof. Although, thankfully there is starting to be more awareness of mental health, in my opinion there is also more of a reason to feel mentally unstable.
We cry when we are on our own, and we try to hide the tears before we go out in public — so no one can see our humanity.
What good is this doing us?
