The Intersection of Race and Disability: Next Steps

Monday, November 16, 2020 at 6 PM - 7 PM EST

Let's take a deeper dive into the intersectionality of race and disability.

About this Event

So what is intersectionality anyway?

According to Merriam Webster, Intersectionality is the complex, cumulative way in which the effects of multiple forms of discrimination (such as racism, sexism, and classism) combine, overlap, or intersect especially in the experiences of marginalized individuals or groups.

Different Outcomes for People of Color with Disabilities

When race and disability intersect, people of color, who need an accommodation in order to perform at their best, too often don't disclose that disability. Let's dive into how advocates, allies, and organizations can work towards making sure that all individuals with disabilities ask for and receive the accommodations they need to be fully successful in work, school, and at home.
