SURE for Mental Health Webinars are for raising awareness of mental health issues. These sessions are non disclosure sessions and not for the purpose of therapeutic intervention. Some disclosures that have been made, have been triggering for other participants. So we respectfully request that no personal disclosures be made. However if you have been affected by any of the issues raised during the session, please let the facilitators know and they can signpost you to the appropriate services.
About the Session
Depression is a mental health condition that can affect any of us, at any time.
This webinar provides an opportunity to look at the issue of depression by first exploring our moods and how, if unchecked, our moods can result in depression. We then explore what depression looks like; the common types of depression; the barriers to accessing treatment; and how we can communicate our needs or the needs of others more effectively. We complete the webinar by looking at self help techniques and experience a 3-minute relaxation technique.
The delivery is given via PowerPoint, discussion and breakout rooms, with time after this, for any further questions that you may have.
Although we recommend that you have your camera on to benefit from the full experience of this webinar, attending with your camera off is fine, too.
