This online storytelling session will take place on Monday 20th September 2021 at 2pm. To book a place, use the green ‘Register’ button at the top.
Facilitated by the Village Storytelling Centre (VSC), the session will support you to share your thoughts and experiences of working with people with dementia and/or with unpaid carers in Shetland. We are using storytelling methods to make it easier for people to talk about dementia in a way that is comfortable for them. By using stories and characters, we can find new ways to tell our own stories.
The VSC uses storytelling as a tool to support groups and individuals to shape and share their own stories and create a platform for their voices to be heard.
The session will be recorded and the recording will only be used to ensure accuracy of the report produced later. Comments will be anonymised.
Professionals and volunteers can also attend our online 'Training the Trainer' applied storytelling session on Tuesday 28th September 2021 at 2pm, where you will learn how to use the one-step removed storytelling approach as part of your work with people with dementia and/or unpaid carers of people with dementia.
