Chloe is our Speech and Language Therapist, specialising in autism diagnosis with Autism Oxford. Alongside working for Autism Oxford, Chloe also works for the NHS with autistic adults and adults with learning disabilities in the community.
What does a speech and language therapist do?
Speech and language therapists (SLTs) provide treatment, support and care for children and adults who have difficulties with speech, language and communication, and / or eating, drinking or swallowing.
Using specialist skills, SLTs work directly with individuals and their families and carers to provide them with tailored support to maximise their communication potential. They also work closely with teachers and other health professionals, such as doctors, nurses, other allied health professionals and psychologists to develop individual treatment programmes.
What can I expect from this webinar?
To gain insight and understanding of communication differences many autistic people experience.
To develop ideas in how to support autistic individuals to ensure they reach their maximum communication potential.
To develop an understanding of Inclusive Communication approaches and to ensure that all forms of verbal and non-verbal communication are recognised, valued and actively promoted within an individual’s environment.
This webinar is aimed at parents of autistic people and professionals.
