Risk Assessment and Management for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities

Individuals identified as “high risk” in the ID service system have diverse backgrounds and presentations. They may be served in service models that are highly variable. Caregivers and administrators are often tasked with managing programs and the inherent “risk” with very little clinical training. This training and workshop will focus on:

  • What does “High Risk” mean? Clinical definitions and diagnostics
  • Risk tolerance and structured thinking for providers and administrators
  • Therapeutic services and treatment
  • Self- care for professionals working in the field

This training and workshop are interactional. Participants are encouraged to bring questions and experiences to share and discuss with the group.

This training is designed to complement Trauma Informed Services and Treatment in the ID Service System.
