Researching Barriers for Students with Chronic Illness and Disability
Monday, July 5, 2021 at 6 AM - 7 AM EDT

Though universities are required to actively promote equal opportunities for people with disabilities and chronic illnesses, and the University of Lincoln has many support mechanisms already in place to support these students, these mechanisms may not lead to equal opportunities in all cases. This talk will discuss a recent project carried out at the University of Lincoln by Dr Susan Chipchase and two student researchers, to explore the experiences of undergraduate students with chronic illness and disability. In particular, the talk will focus on the main barriers that were identified through the project, and possibilities for the next steps to take to improve the university experience for students at Lincoln.

This session has been designed by and is being led by current University of Lincoln student/s. It will enable students to share knowledge with each other, and provide an opportunity to develop transferable skills, a new skill, or polish existing talents! Please note: this event is for University of Lincoln students and staff only.
