52% of those within the Criminal Justice System are neurodivergent, yet only 8 to 10% of the general public are!
We can change this!
This informal, interactive webinar is an introduction to neurodiversity which covers key concepts and simple support strategies.
Why?
– to support offenders with Rehabilitation and Resettlement and to reduce re-offending
– to support staff and improve workplace wellbeing and enhance Recruitment and Retention
It is vital that we:
1. Encourage working supportively with neurodivergent colleagues and clients
2. Improve Communication, Collaboration and Cooperation
3. Futureproof Colleague and Client Welfare
Neurodiversity is the concept that neurological differences should be both recognised and respected, in the same way as any other human variation.
These differences include those labelled with Dyspraxia, Dyslexia, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (better known as ADHD or ADD), Dyscalculia, Autistic Spectrum (including Asperger’s) and Tourette’s Syndrome.
How - I will present these concepts and strategies in four distinct parts:
1. What is Neurodiversity?
2. Types of Neurodivergence
3. Working when Neurodivergent and
4. Supporting Neurodiversity at Work
There will be a short Q&A at the end of this session, and I welcome any and all questions which you may have on this topic.
