Liesje Dusauzay - Sparkling Black - South Yorkshire Autism Fayre

Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 8 AM - 9 AM EDT

Join Liesje Dusauzay as she speaks about her experiences of Autism as a parent in so many different ways, and the journey that she went through in her life. As the founder of Sparkle Sheffield, Leesh will talk about what motivates her to keep going, to make the world a better place for children, young people and their families.

Liesje is a dyslexic black woman with four children, three of them are autistic. One of them has learning difficulties and the other two are also dyslexic. Liesje founded Sparkle Sheffield in September 2014. She is also the founder of the South Yorkshire Autism Fayre. The first ever Fayre was March 2015.

Her talk ‘Sparkling Black’ is all about how and why she started Sparkle Sheffield, her triumphs and fears of raising three black autistic children in today’s society. The challenges of her own community’s acceptance of her children. Her talk will inspire you and hopefully make you think differently as she speaks passionately about making a difference and her life as a dyslexic black mother.

Registration for this session is from 12.45pm, with an 1pm prompt start.
