Windmills was a program designed to shatter attitudinal barriers regarding hiring people with disabilities. Since its inception and until 2005. The Governor’s Committee has over seen several revisions that have modified Windmills to reflect the current language, laws, technology and social trends relating to the culture of disability. Windmills is now governed by Milt Wright & Associates, Inc. and was highlighted in the American Journal of Rehabilitation, resulting in a 14 year study on attitudes and barriers to employment. Windmill identifies employers attitudes and misconceptions about hiring people with disabilities and educates employers on the benefits of hiring persons with disabilities.
