Due to the ongoing success our programme of weekly HRD and HRM virtual round table boardrooms we are facilitating another webinar to provide advice for HR professionals about Neurodiversity in the workplace.
The term Neurodiversity encompasses (among others) attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), dyscalculia, dyslexia, dyspraxia, Asperger’s and Tourette ’s syndrome. Rightly, there must be a shift away from neurodiverse people being labelled with a ‘disorder’ in a negative and instead welcomed and celebrated for the gifts and talents that they bring to any workplace.
However in the workplace, often there is a fear and stigma about employees whose brains work differently which does nothing to help the employee or employer. In this webinar, Robin Watson will review the key aspects and best-practice regarding disability discrimination. Robin will then focus on Neurodiversity and the importance of HR, Line Managers and senior leaders being more aware of how to help members of the teams and reduce the risk of claims.
Robin will discuss:
• What is Neurodiversity?
• Is there a problem in the workplace?
• Best practice to avoid claims
• The role of Occupational Health (or not)
• Workplace toolkits
• Recent case law on neurodiversity
• Making a positive step toward inclusivity
• Practical tips & ideas
With varied resources, Robin hopes to bring a relaxed, but useful and thought-provoking webinar to help attendees and the wider organisations in which they work.
Robin is a solicitor specialising in employment law and HR support. Robin helps varied employers with employees of less than ten to nearly one thousand. Robin’s caseload ranges from employment tribunal claims; TUPE; redundancies; discrimination; drafting contracts, policies and procedures and day-to-day HR support and training.
Robin also helps individuals, usually of a senior level in resolving workplace disputes, pay claims, restrictive covenant advice and employment-exit strategies.
In addition to his advisory role, Robin also has extensive practical HR experience too and provides in-house training to HR teams as well as various talks on topical subjects in employment law, including to a regional branch of the CIPD to over 100 delegates.
Once your place has been confirmed, you will receive a ‘zoom webinar link’ to allow you to join the event. You will receive this link two days prior to the event and again on the day of the event.
