How to run a Zoom meeting for People with Learning Disabilities

Thursday, February 11, 2021 at 2 PM - 3 PM EST

Zoom has changed all our lives. Who would have thought it ! Certainly, many of us had never heard of Zoom until Covid-19 struck. Now we live on it.

This webinar is designed for those who work with, relate to, run groups for people with learning disabilities and will give some practical suggestions and ideas for running an event for people with learning disabilities online.

Myles Pilling is an Assistive Technologist and works with access for disabled people. He is a County Co-ordinator for AbilityNet - a charity that helps the disabled to access their computer equipment and online activities. He also runs groups for people with learning disabilities online and has done since the very first week of lockdown.

The session will include discussion as well as presentation and by the end of the session you will be able to :-

  • Know how to set up a successful zoom meeting for people with learning disabilities
  • Know how to lead a meeting and how to get everyone involved
  • Understand what may be barriers to access for your group
  • Share experiences of what works and what does not work
  • Feel confident to launch a meeting with your group.

In our testing of this webinar we found that is exactly what happened! So let's hope that it will happen as a result of this webinar.
