Hack Your Nervous System for Better Mental Health

Learn simple movements that can help you to positively influence your nervous system and by extension your emotions and health.

About this Event

In this workshop you will learn:

– How the nervous system works and how to influence it.

– The relationship between your emotions and your health.

– What anxiety and stress are really about.

– A variety of tips and techniques to find calm in the moment as well as practices to change your nervous system for the long term.

We ask that participants bring:

- mat/blanket to sit on

- pen/pencil

-notebook

These will be small, intimate group sessions designed specifically for Persons with Disabilities, through JobStart's Peer Employment Mentoring program.

The Peer Employment Mentoring program offers group and one-on-one mentoring support to job seekers with disabilities to help them reach their short and long term career goals. The focus is to raise awareness of available services, provide tips and tools and increase self-confidence. All clients with a disability can access the PEM program (including self-declared) and clients working with other service providers.

Services Available:

  • One on one mentoring with a peer mentor
  • Support with industry specific information, how and where to look for work
  • Assistance to design an individualized employment action plan
  • Group mentoring, interactive workshops and drop-in support group
  • Referrals to individualized community resources based on client need
  • Referral to Job Coach and Job Developer
  • Life skills coaching
