A Stanford University School of Medicine pilot study has indicated that children with autism are able to improve their understanding of the social environment around them using Google Glass paired with an app developed by the school.

When interacting with those around them, the use of Google Glass and the app communicate a name to the emotion being displayed.

Parents of children with autism who used the device and app - named Superpower Glass - indicated that after a period of 1-3 months their child was better at making eye contact and interacting with others.

In a world which lacks sufficient professionals qualified to work with children with autism, Superpower Glass may provide early support for those waiting for help. Source
