I start writing this. Then I stop and erase all I’ve written. I restart.
I honestly don’t know what to say. I’ve started this campaign because it was — is — something I believe in.
How ironic: I myself am arguing that in order to survive this modern world, we need connection; and yet I feel myself drowning outside, feeling excluded from of the very circle of support I am trying to create. All of this pressure from academic institutions and post-modernity to do something “great,” is becoming too much.
All I want to do is create a sense of connection, to be quite honest, in part for me: because I feel alone and isolated… but I know others feel this way, too.
I am sitting at work, staring at my computer — blankly. at my screen.
Feeling overwhelmed by everything.
If we all just come together this problem wouldn’t even be here.
I really don’t want to be the ‘hero’ of this project; I just want to get it going — I want to be part of a community that simply supports everyone, and where we can all be transparent. I want to see and get to know people’s vulnerabilities, as they are the most beautiful part of a person.
I don’t want to make it a ‘business;’ I don’t want to make it a ‘chore.’ I just want to get to the reality of people.
I realize this isn’t in any way a very poetic or eloquently-written blog post … But I wanted to get this off my chest.
