Halton Families for Families is a successful community collaborative whose goal is to connect, support and engage with Halton families who are impacted by a child/youth’s mental health struggles. The initiative is uniquely led by families – adults and youth, which ensures their voices are valued, heard and woven into the fabric of all activities and events, to improve the quality of life for families.
ROCK Reach Out Centre for Kids was designated by the Ministry of Child and Youth Services (MCYS) as the child and youth mental health Lead Agency for Halton in August 2014. With programs and services that run out of 11 sites and three main offices, ROCK is committed to being inclusive, client-centred and family-centred. With over 40 years of service in Halton, we are dedicated to building strong people, strong families and strong communities.
The Bob Rumball Associations for the Deaf provides a variety of care and support to Deaf children and adults with multiple needs including individuals with a developmental disability, Deaf plus individuals, youth and adults with behavioral, emotional or psychiatric problems, young offenders, troubled youth and dually diagnosed individuals.
The Peel Caring Network for Challenged Children is a charitable organization which was created in December 1988. It is primarily a support group for families with children who are intellectually handicapped. We presently have over 100 families who reside in Mississauga and Brampton on our mailing list, and we expect that number to increase each year.
Our Mission is to activate change within individuals, families, and their greater systems; to assist them to achieve happiness, harmony, and wellness.
With locations in Oakville and Hamilton, The Therapy Centre offers Cognitive Behavioural & Emotion Focused Therapy, Counselling and Psychological Services for children, teens and adults. We also have clinicians who speak Arabic, Portuguese, Punjabi, Urdu, Hindi and Hebrew.
VOICE for Hearing Impaired Children was established in the early ’60s by parents to offer support to other families with children who were deaf and hard of hearing.
