Disability Arts Week - Zine Making Workshop

Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at 1 PM - 2 PM EDT

Disability Arts Week is a celebration of artists with disabilities and their important and unique contributions to the art world. All workshops are specifically designed to be accessible to neurodiverse folks and folks with intellectual disabilities. All are welcomed and encouraged in this space. We welcome folks of all abilities, of all life experiences, literacy levels and verbal as well as non-verbal communicators. If you don't identify as having a disability you are also welcome. Recommended for ages 13+

ABOUT PREE

Pree (they/them) is an artist educator currently based in Tkaronto, originally from Tiohtià:ke. They're a child of immigrant settlers from Punjab. Pree's work centres their identity as a queer, non-binary, trans, disabled, fat, and racialized individual.

They have an interdisciplinary arts practice under the name: Sticky Mangos and co-founded the Non-Binary Colour Collective. Pree's work has been featured in CBC, Xtra magazine, BlogTo and Salty.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

Pree will be facilitating a one hour zine workshop so that we can make zines in community with one another. They will provide links between community activism and zine making, and then lead us through options on how to create our own zine. No previous zine or arts experience required.
