#DearEverybody Talk

Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 6:30 PM - 9 PM EDT

Without question, you are going to need some form of barrier-free amenity one day, whether you're pushing a stroller, walking with a sprained ankle, or just getting older. Yet our world isn't built with this in mind. In Toronto alone, three out of four storefronts are not step-free – not to mention accessibility issues when it comes to employment, sports and transportation.

In this panel, CBC's Nana aba Duncan will be talking to three visionaries in the accessibility movement. They will discuss why this issue matters to all of us, what the future could look like when it comes to accessibility and suggest ideas for big and small practical actions you can take right now, whether you have a disability or not.

Join Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital and StopGap Foundation for this speaking panel discussion on Thursday April 12, 2018. Help us raise awareness about the lived experience of people with disabilities, and support two causes that are impacting change in the city of Toronto and beyond.

Your ticket price includes a reception with delicious food from Earth & City and local brew from Steam Whistle Brewing. The panel discussion will be directly tied to Holland Bloorview’s anti-stigma campaign, #DearEverybody.

Nana aba Duncan, host of Fresh Air on CBC Radio One
