As children navigate online learning amidst COVID-19, anxiety may manifest in many ways. In this session, we will provide an overview of anxiety given the impact on social and academic environments, highlight the differences between normal anxiety and clinically relevant anxiety, provide parents with strategies for helping their children adapt to change, as well as anxiety-related behavioral issues.
Dr. Erin Terada and Madison Hewitt, LCSW are therapists at The OCD & Anxiety Center. They both specialize in treating children, teens, and adults suffering from OCD, anxiety, PTSD, and anxiety related disorders (i.e., school anxiety, behavioral issues, tics, hair pulling) with Cognitive Behavioral and Exposure Based Treatment. They provide individual therapy in the office or in the community where anxiety happens as well as intensive treatment for those with severe anxiety. They specialize in difficult to treat cases or cases in which people have not had much luck with other treatments.
This program is offered thanks to support from our partners at the Community Mental Health Board of Oak Park Township.
