Circles of Support and Accountability in the Intellectual Disability Service System

Location: The Board Room

Cost: $25.00 per person. Free for employees of The Moore Center.

Circles of Support and Accountability (COSA) adapted for individuals served within the Intellectual Disability Service system provides a structured way to link specialized therapeutic or behavioral services with the front line service team.

Treatment for individuals within the service system must be adapted for client specific disability related responsivity issues as well as the disability service system culture. Circles of Support and Accountability may be used to bridge the gap between evidence based therapy provided by a licensed clinician and the day to day services provided by paraprofessional staff, family members and sometimes community volunteers working with the individual on a day to day basis.

This training will provide a brief overview of evidenced based approaches related to adapting COSA and workshop exercises designed to increase skills for professionals, volunteers, or family members facilitating or participating in COSA groups for people served by the ID service system.

Cost: $25. Light Refreshments provided

Limit: 16 Participants
