While Parkinson’s disease is the most common form of parkinsonism, there are other disorders which share similar characteristics called the Parkinson’s Plus disorders or atypical parkinsonism. These conditions are Dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB), Progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), Multiple system atrophy (MSA) and Corticobasal syndrome (CBS). Dr. O'Leary will summarize information about these disorders and discuss potential treatments.
Joanna O'Leary, M.D., focuses on movement disorders and general neurology. She earned her medical degree from Rush University in Chicago, Ill., and completed her internship, residency and fellowship at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. Dr. O'Leary became a neurologist to work with patients who have challenging diseases. She also enjoys working with a large number of general neurology patients.
