About the Programme/Event
Assistive devices and technology, such as wheelchairs, prostheses, and hearing aids, maintain or improve an individual’s functioning and independence, thereby promoting their well-being. They also reduce the need for formal health and support services, long-term care, and the work of caregivers. Without assistive technology, people are often excluded, isolated, and locked into poverty, thus increasing the impact of disease and disability on a person, their family, and society. In this workshop, participants will learn about the crucial role assistive technology plays in improving the lives of people with disabilities and their caregivers.
This programme is suitable for those aged 50 and above.
