CWDO remains concerned about the role that social barriers, lack of supports and ableism may be playing. Avis Favaro, who broke the story for CTV, is a highly regarded national journalist who appears to be very committed to raising awareness about the risks of MAiD – last week, she issued a wide call on social media inviting people to come forward with their own personal stories of pressure or discomfort with health professionals who offer MAID.
