We really hope you will be able to join us for the 2021 ARC KSS Living well with Dementia research event on 30th June 2021. This includes a morning research update event, and afternoon community of practice to help establish our research focus.
The morning session will include updates on ARC KSS research aligned activities to date including updates on clinical record integrated data systems, lived experience involvement in research, and:
• Quality of Life during COVID for people living with Dementia and their carers
Dr Stephanie Daley and Dr Ben Hicks will share findings from their two studies: The Time for Dementia COVID nested study, and the DETERMIND COVID study. The results from these studies illustrate the impact of COVID on people living dementia and their carers at various stages of the Dementia journey, and can be used to inform dementia and carer strategies.
• Remote Memory Assessment- satisfaction and clinical outcomes
Dr Gosia Raczek will present findings from her remote memory assessment study. The results from this study will help inform use of remote technology, for assessment, consultation, and for monitoring of people with Dementia and mild cognitive impairment.
• Using the TIHM (Technology Integrated Health Management) Monitoring Service to support the discharge from hospital of people with delirium
Dr Josie Jenkinson will introduce her study which will evaluate using the TIHM monitoring service to support people with delirium after discharge from hospital, and will also explain how undertaking this study has also supported the integration of dementia monitoring into system frailty services.
• Empowering Better End of Life Dementia Care (EMBED-Care)
Professor Catherine Evans, co principal investigator of the EMBED-care will introduce this large national study which aims to generate a step-change in how care is provided for people of any age with any type of dementia to maximise their quality of life.
The afternoon session will involve an interactive community of practice, and will include our co production, and digital teams. The aim of this session is to develop our living well with dementia research focus, including for assistive technology. We will be in contact to establish break out room focus nearer the time.
Please book tickets for one, or both, sessions.
